Jo Haworth-King

Partnership Development Manager

Jo has dedicated her entire career to supporting children, young people and communities across the borough of Rochdale. As Partnership Development Manager at Altus Education Partnership, Jo leads a number of initiatives that make a real difference to local families and communities. These include Children's University, the REACH (Rochdale Enrichment Activity Hub) platform and the Altus Community Food Hub. She is passionate about building strong partnerships and regularly attends neighbourhood networks and forums, working alongside a wide range of organisations to create positive opportunities for local people.

Jo truly lives the values of Altus in everything she does. She is deeply committed to improving the lives of children and young people, ensuring that every programme she leads is welcoming, inclusive and accessible to all. Proud of Rochdale and its surrounding communities, Jo is passionate about making a lasting difference through strong partnerships, meaningful opportunities and a genuine commitment to delivering on promises. She believes that actions speak louder than words – if we say we'll do something, we do it, and we strive to do it exceptionally well.

Jo's commitment to Rochdale extends well beyond her professional role. She has volunteered in a variety of capacities over the years, including as a Beaver Leader with the Scout Association and as a school governor. She currently serves as a Trustee for Rochdale AFC Community Trust, Dale Futures and Rochdale Training, reflecting her unwavering belief that every child and young person deserves the chance to fulfil their potential, follow their aspirations and achieve great things.

Jo spent 17 years at Rochdale Borough Council, taking on a variety of roles with a strong focus on improving opportunities for young people. During this time, she worked on the Raising of the Participation Age agenda and led initiatives relating to Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance. She later became Inclusion Lead Officer within the School Improvement Service, where she managed several teams, worked closely with primary and secondary headteachers on a wide range of inclusion projects, and led the development of Alternative Provision across the borough.

Away from work, Jo enjoys spending time with her family, discovering great places to eat, and indulging her love of theatre. She is an active member of a local amateur dramatics society, where she enjoys being part of another community that brings people together through creativity and fun.
