Working for Our Trust

Good people are at the heart of every organisation; they make it work.

The Trust is committed to supporting staff wellbeing. We maintain a proactive approach where we strive to ensure our staff members are nurtured. As part of our wellbeing, we offer the following benefits to our staff:

Your Remuneration

We follow the Department for Education's recommendations for Pay for Teachers and we follow the recommended Burgandy Book terms and conditions.

We follow the NJC payscales and Sixth Form Support Staff payscales.

We support both Teachers and GMPS pension schemes - providing well above statutory employer pension contributions.

Your Wellbeing

We offer all staff, starting on day-one, access to our Employee Assistance Programme which includes hundreds of expert resources and self-guided interactive courses.

A range of confidential support resources, including access to face-to-face counselling, through our partnership with Rochdale MIND.

Each academy has a designated 'in-house' HR expert who is available to support you with any queries.

Your Personal Development

Trust INSET days - Altus staff participate in regular Trust INSET days, giving staff insight into the strategy and objectives of the Trust, including a range of teacher based and support staff topics.

Our ECT Framework - This is delievered in-house by a highly experienced team of senior leaders across the Trust who will provide, manage and support training to any recently qualified teacher to successfully complete their teaching induction.

National College - We offer regular CPD training sessions with the National College.

Senior Leaders - We offer a personalised coaching package bespoke to your identified leadership training needs.

Middle Leaders - We offer internal coaching delivered by current outstanding practitioners. The aim of coaching is to empower middle leaders with strategic leadership skills, fostering personal and professional growth.

Staff Recognition

Recognised Continuous Service - We carry over any recognised continuous service from your previous school or local authority employment (subject to confirmation of any applicable gaps in service). This includes recognising continuous service for health related absence, maternity and paternity.

JCNC - We recognise all of the main trade unions and professional associations in the education sector, meeting with their national representatives regularly through our Joint Consultation & Negotiation Committee with the common objective of maintaining good employee relations. This is in addition to trade union activity that takes place at an individual academy level.

Rochdale Community Benefits

In conjunction with Your Trust, Altus staff can take advantage of significant membership discounts at local gyms and swimming pools including at Heywood Sports Village, Middleton Arena and Rochdale Leisure Centre.

Each academy has access to free parking or car parking can be reimbursed.

Our Community Outreach

We support the local communities around our academies in Rochdale through a range of activities such as the Altus Community Hub and our work with the Children's University and REACH.
