Altus Education Partnership Celebrated at the Rochdale Diversity Awards
On Friday 24th October we were honoured to have been awarded the Community, Voluntary & Faith Award at this year’s Rochdale Diversity Awards, recognising our work on the Children’s University, REACH, and the Altus Community Hub. The ceremony, held in the Grand Hall of Rochdale Town Hall, and delivered by KYP, brought together organisations and individuals from across the borough to celebrate those driving positive change and embedding Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) into their work.

Representing Altus on the evening were Richard Ronksley - CEO, alongside Stephen Brierley and Naz Suleman - Trustees, Julia Sandiford-Mitchell - Head of Primary and Early Years Education, Karl Smith - Principal of Rochdale Sixth Form College, and Jo Haworth-King - Partnership Development Manager. The team described the experience as “wonderful and humbling”, expressing pride at being recognised for their community-driven efforts.

The Rochdale Diversity Awards, now a cornerstone of the borough’s civic calendar, highlights the commitment of local service providers, employers, and community groups in advancing EDI principles. Each year, the event shines a spotlight on the people and organisations ensuring fairness, respect, and inclusion are central to system change across Rochdale.
The Awards not only celebrate achievement but also foster community cohesion, economic growth, and ethical leadership - all key elements of Rochdale’s proud heritage as the birthplace of co-operation and social progress.
Particular thanks go to Jo Haworth-King and Jane Livesey from the Trust team, and Sharon Pearson and Rose Rawstron from Kingsway Park High School (and everyone else who’s been involved in these valuable initiatives), for their efforts in our community outreach programmes at Altus Education Partnership, leading to Altus receiving this prestigious Award.
